Most of us know what it's like to love a pet. They see us off in the morning, greet us when we arrive and can make an empty house not so lonely.
I have drawn many pets this year including "Reba" the beautiful German Shepherd from Calgary who is featured on this page. With every pet portrait, I get a glimpse at a loving relationship between an owner and their pet. It inspired me to adopt a pet of my own, an adorable cat named "Peanut".
I adopted "Peanut" from the Huntsville Animal Shelter in November of 2007. To give an animal a warm and loving home was a great feeling but I couldn't stop thinking about all those other wonderful animals that spend months waiting for a loving home. Short of adopting them all, I wanted to help out, therefore I am donating 25% of all pet portrait revenues in 2008 to the Huntsville Animal Shelter.
